Weekend Casual with Chloe and Isabel

If you haven't heard of Chloe and Isabel before, I suggest you visit their website immediately. It's a fabulous jewelry line with great pieces and even better price points. My friend Alyssa was sweet enough to send me a few pieces from their current collection to try out. I am in love with these bracelets and how they fit so well together! So head over to Alyssa's Chloe and Isabel boutique and check out all their amazing jewelry.

You may recognize a few of the pieces I'm wearing here from my September Buys post a few weeks ago. I wanted to share them with you so you were able to see how great they work together as well as on their own.

Track Pants

It didn't take me long at all to jump on the track pant bandwagon. I mean come on, you can wear sweatpants all day and still look put together! If you aren't 100% sold, try out a less expensive pair, these Old Navy ones are perfect. And how great are these Target sneakers?! You might recognize them since I included the leopard pair in my September Buys last week (yes, that means I bought both pairs).

Peach-Raspberry Cobbler

I made this fabulous Peach and Raspberry Cobbler a few weeks back when I was up to my ears in fresh Michigan peaches. It was simple and easy and Weight Watchers friendly! This cobbler recipe will work with any fruit you have, fresh or frozen.

  • 1/4 Tsp Salt
  • 3 Tbsp Butter, cold
  • 1/3 Light Sour Cream
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Place sliced peaches in a medium bowl, toss with powdered sugar until dissolved
  • In an 8 inch square baking pan, arrange peaches and top with raspberries
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, 3 tablespoons of sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt
  • Cut butter into flour mixture and work in with a fork or pastry cutter until flour resembles course crumbs
  • Add sour cream and vanilla, mix with a fork until dough comes together
  • Place clumps of crumbs evenly over fruit
  • Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 tablespoon of sugar

I love this romper I snagged on sale at the Loft right before my trip to Boston. It was an easy item to pack and was comfy for walking around Boston all day sightseeing.

Cornbread Waffle BLT's with Garlic Aioli

Cornbread, waffle, BLT, need I say more? These were so fun to make for dinner, everyone loved them. I went the easy route, boxed cornbread mix straight in the waffle maker. The cornbread waffles were so delicious we spent most of dinner coming up with other ways to eat them (think about topping those bad boys with chili..). Throw these simple sammies together for dinner tonight, you won't be disappointed!

Ingredients
  • Cornbread Mix
  • Bacon
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Avocado
  • 1/2 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1 14oz can Red Gold Garlic and Olive Oil Tomatoes, drained

Recipe
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Prepare cornbread mix as directed on box (if it has a waffle mix option use that) while your waffle iron preheats.
  • Generously spray waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray and pour 1/2 cup of batter into each side of the waffle iron.
  • While waffles cook, lay bacon evenly on a cooking rack that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Place cooking rack on a baking sheet and cook bacon for 15-20 minutes, or until bacon is cooked.
  • To make the aioli, combine drained tomatoes and greek yogurt. Stir until combined.
  • When ready to serve spread aioli on waffles and add your favorite BLT toppings. Enjoy!

Shipwrecked

I wore this outfit during our trip to Salem. The weather was a little cooler on the east coast while we were there, so this Old Navy jacket was the perfect light weight piece to have. I can't say enough good things about these Superga sneakers! They were the absolute best walking shoes, super comfy and adorable.
