Simple Found Treasure:Vintage Scale

I wanted to introduce a reoccurring post to Simple Found Treasures, highlighting one of the main reasons I started this blog. I love going to flea markets, antique shows, and estate sales hunting for that special find. I wanted to use this blog as a space to show off those treasures. I thought what better time than now, when flea market season is just kicking off.
I've had this vintage scale for quite some time now. From the second I purchased it I had every intention of finding a cloche to accompany it in just this fashion. Then came the problem, finding that exact cloche that fit the scale base perfectly. I finally found the cloche a couple weekends ago and this adorable vignette came together in no time.

One piece is better than two(sometimes..)

Socialite Romper via Nordstrom Rack // Old Navy Heeled Clogs

I scored this awesome jumpsuit at Nordstrom Rack a few weeks back. I use to always shy away from rompers, but ever since I got one I can't get enough of them! I'm a huge fan of dresses because of their simplicity to build an outfit (one piece as opposed to two), rompers are just as simple and slowly becoming a new fave!

Friday Finds

1. The large Sunflower print on this dress is darling!
2. I've been wanting to make my own candles for some time now, and this Mason Jar Citronella Candle  might be the winner. Keep the bugs away in style!
3. I'm a total sucker for anything tortoise, so these Kate Spade Sunglasses caught my eye.
4. I know Birkenstocks are all the rage for Spring, but I don't know if I can jump on that trend just yet. I think these Anthropologie Sandals will be a good way to test it out.
5. I can't believe I'm saying this, but sometimes Chocolate Chip Cookies are just too rich. I love how light these Lemon Poppy Seed Cookies look!

Happy Friday Everyone! I'm so glad the weekend has finally arrived. I've got a low key weekend ahead of me, watching some play-off hockey (Go Hawks!) and a fun girls night. What do you have planned? Whatever it is, I hope you have a fabulous time! xoxo Jenna

Spring Burlap Wreath

Back in January I featured this wreath as a Valentine's DIY project. I have always had the intention to use the same wreath but switch out the add-ons for different seasons/holidays. I finally got around to changing it from Valentine's Day to a versatile spring look.
I hope you're all having a fabulous week. Happy Wednesday!

Easter Bark

I've seen so many adorable Easter treat ideas on Pinterest over the last few weeks. One in particular caught my eye and that was Easter Bark. The recipe is super simple and totally customizable to your favorite Easter candy. Since I gave up candy for lent, I can't wait to dig into this treat on Sunday!

Ingredients
  • 20 Oz Quality White Chocolate
  • Spring Oreos (Yellow Center)
  • Easter Candy (I used M&M's and Robin's Egg Malted Milk Balls)
  • Easter Sprinkles

Recipe
  • Spray a Microwave safe bowl with cooking spray (this helps the chocolate to slide out easily when melted).
  • Break the chocolate up and place it into your microwave safe bowl.
  • Microwave in 30 seconds increments, stirring throughout, until fully melted.
  • Pour chocolate onto a cooking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Spread your Oreos, candy and sprinkles out evenly onto the chocolate.
  • Let the bark sit for a few hours to harden (if you're in a hurry, pop it in the fridge to harden faster).
  • Cut and enjoy!

Pastel Pretty

Like Mynded (Nordstrom) Top, Go Make Noise (Nordstrom) Jacket Similar Here, Free People Jeans Similar Here, Vintage Necklaces

As quickly as our beautiful weather here in Chicago arrived, it drastically turned to heavy rain showers and cooler temperatures. I'm glad I took advantage of the fabulous temperatures, with some fun outfits and time spent outdoors. I love the boho feel of this outfit, flare jeans paired with an airy pastel blouse. With Easter this weekend, this simple outfit would be a great look for a casual brunch with friends. Happy Monday all!

Friday Finds

1. The Spring weather has me dreaming of outdoor dinners. I love how light this Shrimp and Quinoa Salad looks!
2. I'm not the best when it comes to styling my hair. I've got about 3 ways I've mastered, straight, half-up and the all time favorite, ponytail. So I love all tutorials on The Small Things Blog, they really come in handy!
3. I have seen so many indoor cactus terrariums lately. They have such a different look, I think I might need to give one a shot.
4. Ever since I wore this romper, I've become romper obsessed. This Anthropologie Romper is totally adorable.
5. These Anthropologie Sandals would go with absolutely everything. They're neutral, yet the embellishment adds a fun touch.
TGIF! The weather in Chicago this weekend is supposed to be beautiful! I can't wait to get out there and enjoy it. Is it finally turning into Spring where you are? I think we have all waited long enough for it. Happy Weekend everyone!

Bauble Bar Teams up with...

If you aren't already familiar with Bauble Bar, head over to their site and check them out. Bauble Bar was created in 2011 by two best friends with the idea of in the moment jewelry trends for a guilt free price. As of recently they have teamed up with a couple of major retailers, Anthropologie and Nordstrom. Both collections speak to Bauble Bars distinct style, but differ for each retailers specific customer. The collaboration with Anthropologie has a definite vintage vibe, which is perfect for the Anthro girl. Where as the Nordstrom collection offers already mixed sets (bracelets and necklaces) for the gal who wants the layered look, without the hassle. Both collections are fabulous and still moderately priced, keeping with Bauble Bars guilt free focus.

Kiss, Kiss and a Bucket Bag

I'm sure you've noticed by now that a LOT of the clothing I highlight here and on my Instagram is from J.Crew Factory. I kid you not when I say my life changed when I found the J.Crew Factory store a few years back. It is different in the fact that it's a Factory store and not an outlet. So 90% percent of their merchandise is manufactured just for this store, it's not old merchandise from the full line stores that didn't sell. The prices are drastically cheaper AND they are always having a sale (that I promise you, never buy something full price, they will have it marked down a few days later). If you aren't close to an outlet, their website is fabulous and you save the trouble of having to find a parking spot!

On a completely separate note, I have been searching for a great spring bag. I have seen Bucket Bags trending in a ton of magazines, and so my search for a spring bag turned into a search for a bucket bag. I nearly fell over when I went into Old Navy and saw this bag. I truly could not believe that it was 1. in Old Navy and 2. less than $30! I love it so much I might just buy it in another color!

Well that was longer than expected, I hope I didn't bore you…Happy Monday all! I hope you have a fantastic week

Friday Finds

1. I've pinned so many painted Mason Jars, I think it's about time I take on a little DIY project.
2. I love an easy pair of stud earrings. This pair is totally adorable and less than $10!
3. White is a huge color for spring. This Madewell dress is the perfect LWD to add to your closet.
4. This Marc by Marc Jacobs carry all tote would make the absolute best Spring bag.
5. You can't pass up a good burger recipe, especially when there is guacamole involved..

Did this week fly by for you guys as much as it did for me?  I have a pretty low key weekend ahead of me. Now that the weather has finally turned to Spring, I plan to take a trip to the flea market. I hope the weather is perking up where you are as well and you can get out and enjoy it! Happy Friday!

Rompin' Around

After three days of travel, I am finally home and back on schedule. I had a wonderful time in Florida, we had good weather, for the most part, but then again anything was an upgrade from Chicago lately! I bought this romper a few weeks back from Vintage Charm, an awesome boutique in LaGrange (a total must see if you haven't been before!) It's been hanging in my closet just begging to be worn since I got it, but with our un-spring like weather here in Chicago I haven't had the chance. I'm so glad I brought it with to Florida, the warm weather was the perfect place to break it out (and a little tan to my skin didn't hurt either!) I hope you all are having a fabulous week so far!
