Friday Finds: Same post, new name!

1. Madewell Warren Sandal, I have to admit, my mom technically is the finder of this find, good taste runs in the family!

2. Anthropologie Garden Pots, you know your weather is bad when you're dreaming of garden pots

3. New Looks from J.Crew, everything is amazing, but this dress and clutch are must haves

4. Ily Couture Smokey Crystal Necklace, a great neutral statement necklace

5. Homemade Granola Bars, I have been dying to find the perfect recipe to try out, this might be the one!

I can't believe it took me this long to realize "Friday Finds" was a much more fitting name for this weekly post than "Friday Favorites". With that being said, it will stay the same post, a smattering of my weekly finds from the web, just with a new name! Have a fabulous weekend!

Friday Favorites

3. Anthropologie Cannes Sandals, if you can't tell the center blue dot is a pom pom (as if they weren't cute enough already!)
4. Oh you know, just a Frenchie in a basket
5. Grilled Salmon with Avocado Salsa, an absolute must make! A fabulous recipe from The Cookie Rookie. I made this last night, it was quick, easy and delicious!

So minus the adorable dog in the basket, I'm sensing a tropical vibe going on in this weeks Friday Favorites. Maybe I should take that as a sign…
Have a fabulous weekend! xoxo Jenna

Skinny Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins

I found this recipe a couple weeks back on Pinterest (of course) for Skinny Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins. The original recipe was from a blog called Shugary Sweets, and I followed that recipe to a T (link below).  I absolutely love muffins, so finding a recipe that was low in fat, and low in Weight Watcher points, was a miracle! I used a mini muffin pan and ended up having enough muffins to start my own bakery, but they do freeze well. I would still recommend the mini muffin, it was the perfect size for a morning snack!

  • 2 Tbsp Honey
  • 1/4 Cup Agave Nectar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 3 large Bananas, mashed
  • 1 Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Tsp Kosher Salt
  • 6 oz Vanilla Greek Yogurt
  • 1/2 Cup Mini Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
  • Preheat oven to 350 Degrees
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat honey, agave nectar, egg, vanilla and banana until blended. Add flours, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and yogurt. Beat for 1-2 minutes until fully combined.
  • Fold in chocolate morsels.
  • Grease cupcake tin with nonstick baking spray. Spoon batter into each tin (about 1/4 cup).
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes. For mini muffins, bake 11-13 minutes.
  •  Remove and cool on wire rack. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for later use.
Makes 40 mini muffins

Be Amazing

Sweater, Vest, Booties all Old Navy (not available online, but still in store), Gap JeansVintage Charm Necklace

This week on the blog it's all about Valentine's Day. First up, a casual V-Day inspired outfit. Even though there is no red or hearts to be found here, I think it still has a Valentine's Day flare about it! On a completely different note, I am absolutely obsessed with quilted vests, so when they went on sale at Old Navy I couldn't pass this fun color up!

Camo and Stripes

Gap sweatshirt, J.Crew Turtleneck (old), J.Crew Factory jeans, Steve Madden booties (old), Lily Dawson Necklace

It's hard to walk into a store right now and not find something camouflage. I have always leaned towards the more original camo print, so when I found this sweatshirt at The Gap, I knew I needed it. I love to mix prints; stripes, plaid, polka dots, you name it, I've tried it and my mom has questioned every one of them! I loved how the stripe looked against the camo and it made the outfit a little more than just a sweatshirt and jeans.

Simple Granola

I use to love having parfaits for breakfast, but when I started Weight Watchers over a year ago I realized how high in point values granola could be! So I adapted a couple recipes and came up with this simple and easy granola recipe that I love. Add a couple tablespoons to a bowl of greek yogurt and fruit, it's delicious!

  • 5 Cups Old Fashioned Oats
  • 4 Cups Special K Original Cereal, crushed
  • 1/2 Cup butter
  • 1/2 Cup + 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1/2 Cup honey
  • 1 beaten egg white
  • 1 cup sliced almonds, or any dry roasted nut you prefer
  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees
  • Line a baking sheet (15 X 11) with parchment paper
  • Mix all ingredients, except egg white, in a large bowl until evenly distributed
  • Add egg white and combine
  • Spread mixture on baking sheet in an even layer
  • Bake for 20 minutes
  • Turn off oven and allow granola to cool completely while still inside oven
  • Break into pieces and enjoy!
Makes 10 cups.
